I'm working on this 60's era console stereo and I think the balance pot may be bad, How would I bypass it? Its a 200 ohm pot with three wires. One L, one common and one R. Would I just connect the L to the R or put a resistor in between? I've heard of people bypassing these to help trouble shoot, and honestly I don't even need a balance knob.
